A short list of food-shaped home decor I’d actually keep around in 2026. Decorative, functional, and a little weird in the best way.

Some objects are shaped like food for no practical reason at all. They aren’t meant to be eaten. They just exist, briefly confusing your brain before settling into your home like it’s normal.
These are the food-shaped home objects on my list in 2026 — pillows, lamps, trays, and other everyday things that look edible at first glance, then reveal themselves as something else entirely. They happen to make unique and unusual gift ideas. I’ll probably give a few of these away, but mostly they’re just objects I fantasize about having around.
They’re oddly practical, and in my world, completely necessary.

A ceramic flower vase shaped like a strawberry, detailed just enough to read clearly. Works as a standard vase on shelves, tables, or windowsills, especially in homes that allow a little playfulness.

A soft apple-shaped throw pillow made for sofas, chairs, or beds. Straightforward in shape, comfortable in use, and oddly reassuring to have around.

A plush seat cushion shaped like a biscuit, designed for chairs or floor seating. Works as a casual home object that adds visual interest without needing explanation.

A small accent rug designed to resemble a block of butter. Functions as a regular rug in entryways, kitchens, or living spaces, and doesn’t seem bothered by being there.

A full-size floor chair shaped like a banana, made for casual seating. Sized to sit on the floor like any other lounge chair, without needing special treatment.

A banana-shaped table lamp with an exposed bulb, designed to function as actual lighting. Fits naturally on desks, shelves, or side tables where a normal lamp would usually sit.

A hand-painted, tomato-shaped tray with a slightly off expression. Works as a catchall for keys, jewelry, or desk objects, and feels more like a small art object than functional serveware.

A banana-shaped wooden wall hook meant for keys, bags, or whatever usually ends up near the door. Yes, it’s another banana—it's cute and it’s fine.

Looks exactly like a real potato placed casually in a bowl. Only reveals itself as handmade soap once it’s picked up and used.
This list will be updated as new objects are added.
